Polarizing filters

Requesting information on suppliers (Australian, if possible) of two
products used in photographic conservation: polarising filter film
and Opaline (Cerium Oxide powder).

I would like to make a viewer, to differentiate between polyester
and nitrate/acetate film.  Monique Fischer and Andrew Robb describe
the construction of such a viewer in 'Topics in Photographic
Preservation', vol 5, AIC Photographic Materials Group, 1993.  Has
anyone else gone down this road and located a supplier.
