Subject: Moving collections
The Carnegie Museum of Art is anticipating a major collections move as part of a renovation/construction project. The move is likely to involve most of the museum's 45,000 object collection and is subject to scheduling constraints. The museum administration is searching for comparable projects elsewhere to help determine what kind of temporary staff will be required for this project, such as move coordinator, move conservator(s), registration/data entry, conservation technicians, etc. If any readers of this list have been involved in an analagous project, or are aware of projects like this at other museums, we want to hear from you.
