Fire suppression systems

Alinari Photographic Archives, a company based in Italy, is looking
for more info about fire extinguishers/sprinklers for photographic
preservation/conservation rooms/storage places.

Especially we would like to know if people suggest to use *only*
smoke detectors or also other active extinguisher/sprinkler systems
and if so, which one? Please be as specific as possible and please
post the web site info of the companies that you might suggest.
