National Preservation Office announces Issues in Digital Librarianship: Accessing the Future Celebrating 20 years of service in Europe OCLC Institute Anniversary Conference British Library Conference Centre April 2-3, 2001 A joint event organised by OCLC Europe the Middle East & Africa, OCLC Institute, the British Library the National Preservation Office for the United Kingdom and Ireland. The aim of the conference is to bring together leaders of the major national and research libraries and opinion makers in digital librarianship for the following purposes: To identify and define key issues facing libraries as a result of technological innovation To create a shared awareness of trends, activities, resources, and skills, and to identify gaps To identify opportunities for action; to build shared commitment to action and to begin to plan for action The target audience is those with strategic planning, executive, or senior management responsibilities for libraries, library programmes, or related activities, particularly in the cultural heritage sector. This major two-day conference will take place in plenary sessions and smaller, facilitated, breakout groups.
