This panel discussion includes the artists Janine Antoni, Robert
Ryman, and Fred Tomaselli, who will consider the issues of
conservation and preservation that arise when modern artists put new
materials to work. The artists will be joined by James Coddington,
Chief Curator, Department of Conservation and Kirk Varnedoe, Chief
Curator, Department of Painting and Sculpture, The Museum of Modern
