Subject: PMG Winter Meeting
The AIC Photographic Materials Group 2001 winter meeting is fast approaching. It will be held February 16 and 17 at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston will be our host. Please note the registration deadline: January 19. Tom Edmondson, PMG Program Chair, has assembled an excellent group of presentations including: Contemporary Mounting Techniques; Assessment of the 1980s Treatment of P.H. Emerson's Cuba Album, Conservation of Autochromes by Heinrich Kuhn, The "Perfect" Fill for the Magnificent Tintype, Survey of Cold Storage Facilities for Photography Collections, Overview of the Mellon Advanced Residency Program in Photograph Conservation, Summary Updates of the Research Projects of the Mellon Advanced Residency Fellows, Henry Heyl and The Phasmatrope, Vernis Cuir, a 19th Century Coating by Blaquart-Evrard, and the History and Preservation of the Joseph Marie Eder Collection. In addition we have scheduled a business meeting, time for catalog committees to meet, a viewing of the Walker Evans exhibition at MFA,H, and a visit to The Menil Collection. Blocks of hotel rooms have been reserved through the MFA,H for the meeting at the Crowne Plaza Houston Medical Center, and the Crowne Plaza's sister hotel across the street, the Holiday Inn.
