Duties: Incumbent will provide technical and clerical support in the
Collections Conservation Unit. Demonstrated understanding of book
structures and standard conservation procedures for the treatment of
paper-based materials. Demonstrated understanding of conservation
and preservation objectives. Good verbal and written communication
skills; familiarity with use of automated library information
systems. Familiarity with maintenance of statistics and inventory.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Good manual dexterity;
good visual and spatial skills. Demonstrated ability to work with
bookbinding tools and equipment. Ability to organize and accomplish
a variety of tasks. Able to work well with others. Able to work
independently.

Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED AND three years
experience directly related to the primary duties of the position.
