Subject: Exhibit procedures
Here at Rutgers Special Collections and University Archives we are in the process of re-evaluating our exhibit procedures. My questions are for conservators and exhibits preparators who work in libraries or archives with active exhibits programs, but I would welcome responses from anyone involved with exhibits. 1. Do you review every collection item to be used in an exhibit for either conservation treatment or exhibits preparation? 2. How early prior to an exhibit opening do you review items for possible conservation treatment? 3. How early prior to an exhibit opening do you receive collection material that requires preparation (cradles, matting or framing, etc.)?
