Qualifications: B.A. degree preferred.  Prior experience in the
treatment of special collections, demonstrated hand skills, computer
skills, ability to work in busy lab environment, and self-motivated.

The project will be full time (35 hours/week) for a three-month
period, and part time (15 hours/week) for approximately three
additional months, or until the project is completed.  This is a
temporary, part time non-benefited position.  Rate of pay is $11.00
per hour.  Start date immediately.

Candidate will be responsible for the paper conservation treatment
of the autograph poetry and letters of Emily Dickinson, closely
supervised by the Paper Conservator.  Approximately 550 items
require treatment. Treatment will involve surface cleaning, mending
with Japanese tissue and wheat starch paste and stain reduction.
Candidate will work closely with the paper conservator and curator
to determine appropriate box enclosures and contribute to their
design.

The actual treatment work will take place at the Harvard University
Library Preservation Center, 821 Holyoke Center, Cambridge and will
be supervised by the paper conservator.
