West Dean College Building Conservation Masterclasses January and February 1999 January 1-9-22 Plasters and Renders in Conservation BC 3D4 Course Leader: John Ashurst, former Principal Architect with English Heritage, Professor of Building Conservation at Bournemouth University and joint author of the seminal book series Practical Building Conservation, Architectural Consultant in Historic Building Repair and Conservation. Principal Tutor: Colin Burns, a mason, former English Heritage Senior Training Officer at Fort Brockhurst Building Conservation Training Centre, with extensive practical experience of the conservation of historic masonry. This course covers the repair of historic internal and external plasters and renders based on analysis and identification of failures; includes replication of plasters from rough cast to stucco, simple mouldings and preparation of specifications.
