Doyle has considered the possibility of using the acrylic copolymer Primal (Rhoplex) WS24 to replace Vinamul 6825 vinyl acetate copolymer emulsion as a consolidant for fossil bones. Primal WS24 has a pH in the preferred range 6.8 to 7.2 and at approximately 0.03 microns, has a much finer particle size than many other similar acrylic emulsions. Adding an amorphous silica (such as Gasil 23C) to the solution would matt down the finished application. For further information on either of these products please contact either myself here in England (+44 1865 747755) or Kathy at our office in Springfield, Virginia, America (800-634-6932).
