Printing on Tyvek

Tyvek is commonly used as a tag or label for museum objects, a
number of museum custodians have asked what method might be employed
to produce printed labels.

A few years ago we tried unsuccessfully to produce some labels using
a commercial laser printer, the printer jammed during use and the
repair costs were significant enough to prevent us from trying
again.

Other than using hand applied writing implements can anyone suggest
a process that they have used themselves successfully for printing
directly onto a 110 gsm (approximately 8 pt thickness) tyvek sheet.
