Objects Conservator The Florida Museum of Natural History University of Florida The Florida Museum of Natural History, University of Florida, seeks to hire a conservator with a specialization in objects conservation to develop a new conservation section. Primary emphasis will be on conservation of archaeological and ethnographic collections, but experience with natural history collections is desirable. Responsibilities will include preventive and interventive conservation; overseeing the conservation of all museum collections including anthropology and natural sciences; making recommendations concerning building/facility, exhibit, and storage conditions; working with collections staff to develop museum policies affecting conservation; designing and equipping a conservation laboratory; treating and stabilizing objects; supervising conservation technicians. Requires bachelor's degree in anthropology, earth science, or biological science, and master's degree in conservation, plus two years' experience as conservator, preferably in a natural history museum.
