Cradle for displaying fore-edge paintings

A colleague recently contacted me regarding information for a cradle
design for exhibiting books with fore-edge paintings.  I've never
designed such a cradle and wonder if anyone knows of a design or a
commercially available cradle that would serve this purpose?  I'd
also like to hear from anyone who has exhibited fore-edge paintings
to learn if the books showed any signs of physical distortion after
they came off display.  Thanks very much in advance for your help.
