Recent literature on slide/film scanners

M.J. McNamara, Film Scanner Roundup: The best way to get photo
into your computer isn't with a digital scanner. Try a film
scanner. Popular Photography, Vol. 62, No.9, Sept. 1998, pp.
    88-95 + 127.

Eight slide/film scanners are reviewed with resolution
comparison images. Reviewed scanners include the Nikon LS 2000
($1800), Polaroid SprintScan Plus ($1700) and, the very lowest
cost unit, the HP PhotoSmart Slide/Film Scanner ($400). This is
the HP PhotoSmart review I've been looking for; its
    disappointing.
