Applications are invited from  conservators to join the Conservation
Unit of the National Archives of Scotland. The NAS has
responsibility for selecting, preserving and making available the
national archives of Scotland, which span 8 centuries and at present
occupy 62 linear kilometres.

We are seeking an innovative and versatile conservator who can
demonstrate a wide knowledge of traditional and modern conservation
techniques and work well in a team environment. Good communication
skills and ability to undertake responsibilities away from the bench
are required. Enthusiasm, flexibility and a sense of humour are
essential.

Candidates should have a professional qualification in book or
archive and paper conservation. In addition appropriate practical
experience would be considered desirable. Candidates invited for
interview will be asked to bring  a portfolio. You will join a team
of 8 conservators.The appointment is permanent.

Starting salary 13,500 pounds sterling and up to 16,500 pounds
sterling according to qualifications and experience with further
increases depending on performance , up to 19,750 pounds sterling.
