Weber Wax

From: Laura Reutter <lreutter>

The Conservation Department of the Indianapolis Museum of Art is
presently conserving eight Thomas Hart Benton murals located on the
campus of Indiana University, Bloomington, IN. Benton was known for
using some unusual techniques and materials, including a product
called Weber Wax, which he apparently applied as a surface coating
to some of his murals. Is anyone familiar with this company, the
product or its ingredients? Was it a liquid, a cream or solid wax?
What application was it designed for? Any information would be
appreciated. Thanks.
