Subject: Cleaning photographic negatives
Re the question of cleaning nitrate negatives before making prints and then scanning the prints, it's not clear from the query why they are not scanning the nitrate negatives instead. This would capture more information than scanning from the prints and the images could even be "cleaned" digitally if necessary. Scanned negatives can be viewed on monitors as positives. Gary D.
