Cleaning photographic negatives

From: Gary Saretzky <saretzky>
Date: Thursday, August 6, 1998
Re the question of cleaning nitrate negatives before making prints
and then scanning the prints, it's not clear from the query why they
are not scanning the nitrate negatives instead. This would capture
more information than scanning from the prints and the images could
even be "cleaned" digitally if necessary. Scanned negatives can be
viewed on monitors as positives.
