How to get to the Library of Congress for PARS meetings

Bus: The Library of Congress will be included on one of the ALA bus
routes. It may be part of another route to hotels or a separate
route; check at the Convention Center.

Metro: Washington's Metrorail system provides a convenient, safe,
and easy alternative. The "Capitol South" Metrorail stop, located
across the street from the C Street entrance to the James Madison
Building, is on both the blue and orange lines. These lines can be
accessed at the "Metro Center" stop near the Washington Convention
Center.

For the location of the "Metro Center" and "Capitol South" Metrorail
stops and a Metrorail stop near your hotel, check the Metrorail
System Map at:

)While visiting the Post web site, you might want to check out
restaurant listings as well at:

Map of the Locations of the Library of Congress Buildings The PARS
meetings are located in either the lst floor of the Jefferson
Building (the one with the dome) or the 6th floor of the Madison
Building (the one closest to the Metro stop "Capitol South"). Maps
showing the locations of these rooms are available on LC's web site:
<URL:http://lcweb.loc.gov/ala/alahome.html#maps>

Entrances to the Library of Congress: For those coming for PADG on
Saturday morning, you should enter through the west front doors
which face the Capitol Building. LJ 119 is to the left of the Great
Hall.

For the meetings in Madison Saturday afternoon, enter through the
front door (Independence Avenue) and go to a bank of elevators just
past the guard station. Take the elevators to the 6th floor. There
will be signage to direct you to West Dining Room and Room 642. You
can also enter Madison from the C Street door (near the Metro stop).
If you are planning on leaving the Madison Building through the C
Street door, it closes at 6 p.m. After 6 p.m. use the Independence
Avenue door to exit.
