Gypsum and photographs

A (web) patron was asking me about care of photographic prints and
mentioned that she had a gypsum-lined fire-proof box she'd like to
put them in.  She's been doing some reading on storage and I was
able to give her some advice on enclosures in general, but I
couldn't tell her if/how gypsum will interact with photographic
media.  Does anyone have any ideas?
