Call For Papers UKIC Furniture Section Modern Materials - Modern Problems April 1999, Museum of London The Twentieth Century has seen great changes in the way furniture is made and the materials and finishes used in its production. This conference seeks to examine a wide range of conservation challenges posed by the use of man-made materials and mass-production construction techniques. We would be interested in receiving papers from conservators and others involved in research and conservation of twentieth century furniture made of materials such as plywood, Formica, particle board, metals, synthetic upholstery materials, twentieth century finishes, adhesives and plastics, historic and modern.
