Call For Papers
UKIC Furniture Section
Modern Materials - Modern Problems
April 1999, Museum of London

The Twentieth Century has seen great changes in the way furniture is
made and the materials and finishes used in its production.

This conference seeks to examine a wide range of conservation
challenges posed by the use of man-made materials and
mass-production construction techniques.

We would be interested in receiving papers from conservators and
others involved in research and conservation of twentieth century
furniture made of materials such as plywood, Formica, particle board,
metals, synthetic upholstery materials, twentieth century finishes,
adhesives and plastics, historic and modern.
