Building projects and the Conservator

This multidisciplinary conference will explore the development of
major capital projects, particularly during the crucial design
stages.  The conference speakers will include both building and
museum professionals.  The aim is to improve communication and
understanding of the expectations and needs of the museum client and
the design team during major construction work.

The conference has the support of the Museums & Galleries Commission,
the Museums Association, the United Kingdom Institute for
Conservation and is being hosted by the Royal Armouries.  It is being
organised by May Cassar (Museums and Galleries Commission), Velson
Horie (The Manchester Museum) and Bob Smith (Royal Armouries).
