Subject: Outdoor storage of industrial objects

The plastic films "Static Intercept" and "Corrosion Intercept" might offer a solution. They are said to prevent corrosion from atmospheric gases and from galvanic corrosion. They have apparently been used by some conservators to protect bronze sculpture in storage or in transit. They are widely used in the electronics industry, and are now being applied to the protection of other products by various manufacturers. In theory, the films provide a weather barrier, a barrier to corrosive gases, a "sink" for gases which are inside the barrier, and "short circuit" the galvanic circuit when they are in contact with ferrous metals.
