House museums

An existing house museum ca 1900 will be structurally restored and
furnished. The problem is: how do you reconcile the general
preservation\conservation measures such as security (electronic
devices, etc.), alarms and alarm systems (security, fire,
water, etc.), climate control, light and lighting, pest control, etc.
with a house museum reflecting the lifestyle of 1900.

Approximately 4,000 visitors visit the house monthly and this figure
will escalate in future. This also poses a conservation problem.

The house will be furnished partly with original furniture as well
as replicas that must also be preserved.

Information about a conservation management policy and conservation
management plan will also be appreciated.
