Audio tape and videotape

Regarding Patricia's Smith question about videotapes and sound
recordings. the Association for Recorded Sound Collections may be a
good source of information.  Contact Peter Shambarger at
410-956-5600 x242 or Joseph Salerno at 713-668-8650.  Joseph will
give a presentation at the annual conference of this organization in
Syracuse, NY in 2 weeks.  The topic of Joe's presentation is;
Digital Restoration On a budget--a real small budget.  I plan to
attend his presentation since our library is trying to obtain a
grant to digitized one of our oral history collection. This subject
is, of course, the never ending debate of access versus
preservation.  I will be happy to share with you the information I
gather while in Syracuse or anywhere else. Best of luck,
