Subject: Microscope slides reference library of fiber specimens
The National Park Service's Division of Conservation currently is in the process of creating a computerized database of information relating to 2,000 plus microscope slides containing fiber specimens. These fiber specimens have been collected from historic objects treated in the textile lab over the past 20 years. I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has a similar database or who knows of similar data bases, specifically with regard to the categorization of fibers, and the organization and retrieval of information.
