Winterthur fellowships awarded

Winterthur Museum, Garden, and Library is pleased to announce that
the following conservators will be residential fellows for a portion
of the 1998-99 academic year:

    Lance Mayer and Gay Myers
    Painting conservators, Lyman Allen Art Museum

    "American painting techniques during the first half of the
    nineteenth century, with special emphasis on comparisons between
    published and unpublished painting manuals"

    Nancy Purinton
    Paper conservator
    National Park Service, Harper's Ferry Center

    "Hand coloring of eighteenth-century American maps--techniques
    and materials"
