Subject: Workshop on fund raising
Capitalize on Collections Care: A Fund-Raising Workshop Grey Nuns Provincial House 151, rue Despins Winnipeg, Manitoba April 16-17, 1998 Sponsored by the Association for Manitoba Archives and Heritage Preservation. As government funding for cultural organizations is increasingly threatened in the current political climate, institutions must expand their fund raising to new horizons: the corporate and private sector. Through presentations, and hypothetical case studies, this workshop will show how organizations can use their collections care programs to target these sources and enhance efforts to raise money. This two-day workshop will demonstrate how institutions can incorporate preservation and conservation creatively into fund-raising activities. Collections care can be an effective tool for raising money and invigorating a fund-raising program, benefiting both the collections care program and the whole institution. Speakers and panelists have been selected to represent a wide range of institutional types and funding projects. This workshop is designed for librarians, archivists and museum professionals responsible for or interested in incorporating collections care into their fundraising activities.
