Course on cleaning with lasers

From: Stephen Fowles <sculpture>
Date: Monday, February 23, 1998
The following course takes place at the Conservation Centre,
National Museums and Galleries on Merseyside.

Introduction to Laser Cleaning in Conservation

A laser offers the conservator with a tool of exceptional precision
and versatility and laser cleaning is rapidly becoming established
in a wide range of applications. An 3-day course is offered,
comprising lectures, demonstrations, practical work and individual
tuition, and provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in
this new field. The course provides an understanding of the use of
lasers for the conservator. An appreciation of conservation is
assumed but no scientific background is required. The number of
participants for each course is strictly limited. A 1-day
introductory course is also available which will provide an insight
into the possibilities offered by laser cleaning. This course can be
arranged at a time to suit the participants.

The 3 day course will be run on the following dates:
22-24 Jun. 98 and 23-25 Nov. 98
