The Paper Conservation Department of the Metropolitan Museum of Art
is seeking applicants to fill a three day per week position with
opportunity for renewal for two to three years as a Conservation
Assistant or Assistant Conservator depending upon experience. The
individual will serve as an active member of the department, and
will be responsible for conservation treatment, technical
examinations, written reports, loan checks, collections care and
other Museum activities. Good manual and technical skills are
essential.

An M.A. degree or equivalent from a recognized conservation training
program, a strong background in art history and one or two years
professional work experience is required. Candidates must submit a
curriculum vitae, a letter stating interest in the position and
three professional references. Applications should be postmarked by
February 15, 1998. Position to begin March 1, 1998.
