The University of Florida invites applications for the position of Reprographics Unit Head, responsible for managing the Preservation Department's Reprographics Unit. The position hires, trains and supervises full-time support staff and student assistants to identify, process and reproduce brittle and deteriorated library materials as part of the Libraries' preservation strategy. As the assistant to the Preservation Department Head, the Reprographics Unit Head coordinates reprographic preservation treatments, both in-house and contracted, including microphotography and digitization of archival and library materials. The Unit Head collects, analyzes and prepares reports on Unit statistics. The Unit microfilms more than 500,000 pages and images more than 100,000 pages annually. The Unit Head also develops and maintains the Reprographics Unit web pages and Unit manuals. As liaison to the Systems Department, the Unit Head maintains Unit hardware and software, and troubleshoots and resolves basic computer related problems in the Reprographics Unit.
