CMDS/PARS discussion group

From: Meg Brown <brown44>
Date: Friday, January 2, 1998
The CMDS/PARS Discussion Group will meet at the ALA Mid-Winter
meeting in New Orleans. The group is scheduled for Sunday
January 11, 9:30-11 AM, in the New Orleans Hilton--Prince of
    Wales Room.

The topic will be: Collaborations Between Collection Development
and Preservation in the Digital Age: from Optional to Necessity

What are the new problems (and opportunities?) for collecting
and preserving information in digital formats?

Are "collecting" and "preserving" the same thing in a digital
     environment?

How do the demands of electronic information affect traditional
     preservation concerns?

     ....many more??

Please bring your own concerns, questions, insights and
    curiosity!
