The CMDS/PARS Discussion Group will meet at the ALA Mid-Winter meeting in New Orleans. The group is scheduled for Sunday January 11, 9:30-11 AM, in the New Orleans Hilton--Prince of Wales Room. The topic will be: Collaborations Between Collection Development and Preservation in the Digital Age: from Optional to Necessity What are the new problems (and opportunities?) for collecting and preserving information in digital formats? Are "collecting" and "preserving" the same thing in a digital environment? How do the demands of electronic information affect traditional preservation concerns? ....many more??
