Subject: Flood at Higgins Armory Museum
On Friday Jan 2, a broken pipe cause damage to some artifacts in the Higgins Armory Museum. "The museum is one of the few institutions in the Western Hemisphere dedicated to the collection of arms, armor, and related artifacts. The most significant loss was damage to the basement storage area that housed the museums study collection. The thousands of priceless artifacts stored there were often used for research. Many of the artifacts are beginning to rust. Kent Russell, the museum's executive director, said that it appeared that about 20% of the collection was affected by the flooding..."
