Opportunities for Training and Research in Conservation
1997-1998

The RCA/V&A Conservation Course was established in 1989. The Course
is unique in that it provides conservation education, training and
research opportunities based on collaboration between working
museums, institutions and practices and internationally recognised
centres of academic excellence. Each year, the Course offers a range
of specialised practical conservation and research opportunities at
postgraduate level. The options available change from year to year
depending on the availability of supervision, space and other
resources.

MA options are intended to provide training and education which will
lead to a career in conservation and give graduates a particular
area of expertise. MPhil and PhD options are intended to provide
graduate conservation students, working conservators or graduates
from other disciplines with the opportunity to undertake serious
research of relevance to conservation.

The official closing date for applications for 1997/98 is 22 January
1997. This may be extended a little but please make every effort to
contact us and submit your application before this date.
