The Cline Library at Northern Arizona University invites
applications for: Special Collections Librarian.  Under the
direction of the Head of Special Collections and Archives, the
Special Collections Librarian performs and/or supervises all tasks
related to management of the Special Collections monograph,
periodical, and microfilm collections, including ordering,
acquisition, accounting, receipt, processing, maintenance, and
preservation; works with departmental staff to plan, implement, and
evaluate innovative departmental reference services; provides patron
assistance on a daily basis; serves as a liaison to NAU faculty,
with an emphasis on curriculum integration of Special Collections
materials for on site and distance education; conducts training for
library staff, faculty, and students in the use of departmental
resources, including an imaging database; performs collection
development; and represents the Library, as appropriate, in campus,
state, and national meetings.

Minimum Qualifications:  Required: ALA-accredited MLS; demonstrable
knowledge of reference services and management of monographic and
print collections in a university special collections and/or
archives; demonstrated ability to interact productively with members
of a team in problem solving; strong commitment to library service
and the principles of diversity and pluralism; enthusiasm for
instruction; interest in emerging technologies; excellent
communication and organizational skills.  Desired:  Knowledge of the
history and development of the Colorado Plateau; demonstrated skill
in designing and conducting workshops and training exercises;
experience with reference, collection development, and distance
education.
