From: Gay Tracy <tracy>
Date: Tuesday, December 3, 1996
Steve Dalton, Director of Field Services at the Northeast Document
Conservation Center, in Andover, Massachusetts recently returned
from Havana, Cuba. While in Cuba, Steve presented a workshop on
digital scanning at an international conference at the National
Library "Jose Marti". His presentation reached an audience of more
than 100 people. In October 1996, Walter Newman, a senior paper
conservator at NEDCC, traveled to Cuba for two weeks to work in the
conservation lab of the National Archives. In addition, he
presented a city-wide seminar that was attended by 71 professionals
from 21 institutions. In April 1997 NEDCC seeks to bring two Cuban
conservators to Andover to study conservation treatment techniques.
