I recently acquired a first empire light cavalry saber at auction.
the steel scabbard needs many small dents removed before I reblue it
(a previous owner removed the patina with steel wool). Are there
practical ways to remove these dents without drilling? If not, is
there a process that will fill them (reversibly) with material that
will accept the bluing (cold) or that can be stained to match the
color and surface sheen of the newly blued area?
