Subject: Straw
Next to one of Scotts Huts in Antarctica can be seen a pile of straw or chaff. Because of the strong winds and occasional handling by humans and penguins the straw appears to be disintegrating and spreading its load over a wide area. Has anyone any experience to relate or advice for the Antarctic Heritage Trust (who look after this site). We have considered some type of netting but realise it must be invisible, closed and not endanger any species on the ice. Has anyone any thoughts?
