Herculaneum Papyri

Do any list members have some information concerning  preservation
work on the carbonized papyri  from the Villa de la Papyri at
Herculaneum?  They are housed at the International Center for the
Study of the Herculaneum Papyri in Naples.  I am interested in
horror stories concerning early efforts as well as more recent
activities. Thanks very much for your help,
