University of Canberra Faculty of Applied Science Lecturer Paper Conservation $43602 - $51777 pa Reference No. 96/2078 Deadline: 18 Oct 96 The National Centre for Cultural Heritage Science Studies (NCCHSS) seeks to appoint a Lecturer to develop and teach the paper conservation at the Bachelor's and Master's degree level, supervise research by undergraduate and postgraduate students and carry out research in an appropriate field. Teaching will concentrate on the history and technology of paper based materials; the causes of deterioration; library and archive preservation and the techniques of paper conservation. The NCCHSS has a laboratory specifically for teaching paper conservation. You will have a degree in the conservation of cultural materials and have at least five years experience in the conservation of paper based materials (including artwork) in libraries, art galleries, archives or other cultural institutions. Previous teaching experience is highly desirable but not essential. The position is available for five years.
