**** Moderator's comments: This query was originally sent as a private message to someone who is unable to respond at the moment, so I thought I'd pass it on Recently we have been approached by a museum to help them with the preservation of various articles such as books, papers, textiles, various household items. The museum has special historic significance for the entire Bangalee nation. It is the desire of the Museum authority to preserve every items in the building for the posterity. However, there is not much information and facilities available here in Bangladesh to undertake such an important job. We made several visits to the museum. We noticed visible signs of deterioration due to insect pests, fungus, and high humidity and temperature. We would like to request to help us, if possible, with the following: Addresses of professional firms who can provide service to preserve a. paper materials b. photographs c. textiles d. paintings e. audio recordings f. video recordings g. building conservation, etc. h. IPM in museums We would also appreciate if you can send us some information on the above topics. In this country it is very difficult to collect information on this specialised field. We would also appreciate if you can guide us to the sources (Internet, institutes, commercial firms, etc.) through which may collect information on this topic. The information and the expert opinion you send will greatly help us to develop a comprehensive conservation program for this very special museum. We sincerely hope you will extend your help in our effort to preserve this priceless historic museum from the slow and eventual destruction from the forces of nature. Best Regards.
