Strathmore 400 Bristol board (really paper, in several plies -
thicknesses) is described by Strathmore literature as an high
quality student paper. Its content is not mentioned. I use the
Strathmore 500 series, which is all cotton and their finest quality.
However, it does yellow with time, although I have not seen any
other sign of deterioration over 31 years. All cotton does not mean
necessarily acid-free, and all materials are contaminated by their
environment.

I suggested to Carol (off the list) that she contact Strathmore
Paper Co. at 413-568-9111. Probably there is an 800 number available
from a library's list of 800 numbers.

Any suggestions from others on this list? There are many
manufacturers of "archival" Bristols for artists.
