are posting the following questions for practicing conservators of
works of art on paper. They would appreciate receiving replies
directly at either of the above e-mail addresses, or by other means
if you prefer.

They would like to know:

Your name (required, but confidential):
email (optional and confidential)
Approximately how many paper-based objects, in the past few years,
have you treated by using a bleaching procedure?

Of those bleaching treatments, how many were performed using an
aqueous light bleaching method?

If you did not use the aqueous light bleaching
method, was it because:

    i.  appropriate equipment was not available;

ii. the presence of other, sensitive materials, e.g. lignin or
light-sensitive media, precluded the use of light; or

iii. you prefer to use other bleaching procedures?

In general, do you perceive aqueous light bleaching to be
commonly used compared with other bleaching procedures? How
common?:

Thank you heaps for taking the time to answer our questions! Your
responses will be used in an informal statistical manner only.
Respondents will not be identified. We would appreciate hearing from
you before the end of October
