Cornell University Library Department of Preservation and
Conservation is seeking a Digital Projects Librarian to coordinate
and provide support for a range of digital image research,
demonstration, and training projects. These projects are designed to
support preservation reformatting, network access, and on-screen
display of research library materials. The Department of
Preservation has pioneered the use of digital image technology to
preserve and make accessible research library materials, and
maintains a digital imaging research facility.

The Digital Projects Librarian will report to the Associate Director
of the Department and is expected to work on various imaging
initiatives with other librarians, archivists, technologists, and
teaching faculty.

Qualifications:    MLS degree from an accredited institution or
other relevant graduate degree; minimum of 1-2 years work experience
in digital imaging, photography, or electronic text initiatives;
evidence of excellent written and oral communication skills; good
organizational and analytical skills; ability to work well
independently and in small groups.  Preferred: additional experience
in graphics design, printing, desktop publishing, grant writing, and
familiarity with research library environment.

Salary: $28,500 minimum; one-year appointment with reappointment
anticipated, dependent on funding.
