Fiber optic lighting

My museum is considering to set fiber optic lighting in the exhibit
case. Since in my country, we have little experience on this kind of
setting. If there is anybody who have experience with kind of
setting and know the good side and bad side of the product, please
contact with me. Also I am looking for references or some research
reports on the subject.
