Subject: Copy cradle for fragile books
**** Moderator's comments: Please reply directly to the author When publishing facsimile reprints of local historical books several years ago I designed a cradle for holding fragile books while they were being photographed. It holds only one half of a book at a time, so eliminating stress to the binding, and holds the copy surface at a constant distance from the camera lens, so minimizing the effort of keeping the camera in focus as an entire book is copied. Recently, a few of these copy cradles have been sold to conservators of book collections and I have received many queries from an earlier post to this list. I would like to turn the marketing of the copy cradle over to a larger company that provides libraries and museums with conservation technology. Can anyone on the list recommend a reputable company who would be interested in acquiring marketing rights to the copy cradle?
