Discussion Group meeting to be held in New York City at the American
Library Association's annual conference.  All conference attendees
are welcome to attend.

    Discussion topics:

        Minolta face-up copier (tentative-Gary Frost)

        Special Collections Materials in the General

        Stacks:  appropriate conservation treatments (note:  this
        will be a follow-up discussion based upon the RBMS
        pre-conference session held 4 days earlier.)

        Suggested topics for next meeting, Feb. 1997 / Washington,
        D.C.:

        NISO Exhibition guidelines (pending)--impact upon
        conservation treatment decisions?

        Long distance conservation treatments--when you don't have
        an in-house conservation lab.

        Preservation condition survey forms for rare books.

        Monetary appraisal of holdings and how that figure
        "translates" into insurance coverage for the repository.
