Shelf life of books in public libraries

    directly to sender and if of general interest post it here as well

Our firm needs to find out if any studies have been done to determine the
normal shelf life of hardbound, fiction and paperbound, fiction books in an
average Public Library system.  Any assistance would be greatly
appreciated,
