Subject: Video archives
**** Moderator's comments: This query comes from a person who is not on the DistList and will not see any responses that are posted here. Please respond directly to sender and if of general interest post it here as well My name is Jim Roberts and I am the Research Director for KTBS, the ABC network affiliate television station in Shreveport, Louisiana. We have a very large video tape archive that includes for 3/4" and 1/2" tapes. We are trying to find a solution to both the storage problem (they take up a lot of space), the deterioration problem (many of the tapes date back to the early 1980's), and the access problem. Because of the antiquated system in place then, it is extremely hard to find a particular story or event effectively and quickly. Friday I accessed the Conservation OnLine web site and thought that I might not be the only one in this dilemma and that someone out here had either found a reasonable solution or was further ahead then KTBS. If you can be of help in this matter, please let me know. Thanks for your help, Jim Roberts Research Director KTBS News *** Conservation DistList Instance 9:82 Distributed: Tuesday, June 4, 1996 Message Id: cdl-9-82-005 ***Received on Monday, 3 June, 1996
