Brief Description:    Applications are being accepted for the
support staff position of exhibits preparator/conservation
technician at Princeton University Libraries.  This is a new
position.  The person in this position is responsible for the minor
treatment, mounting, and installation for exhibits of rare and
special materials from the Libraries collections.  This position is
within the Preservation Office and reports to the Special
Collections Conservation unit head.

Qualifications: Individual must have previous experience performing
minor conservation treatments.  Must have experience using or
familiarity with tools and equipment used to preserve and conserve
library materials.  Must have knowledge of and previous experience
in the exhibit, display and housing of bound, archival, graphic arts
and three dimensional objects.  Must have good hand to eye
coordination and manual dexterity.  Must have the ability to follow
instructions, organize work, complete work in a timely manner, work
under pressure at times, and be dependable.  Must have the ability
to understand practical concepts of conservation and display
sensitivity when handling fragile materials.  Must display good
judgement and common sense.  Must have the ability to build good
working relationships with others and to be resourceful.

Benefits: Twenty-two (22) vacation days a year, plus eleven (11)
paid holidays.  Pension plan, group life insurance, health coverage
insurance, and disability insurance.

Salary: This position is pay grade D with a current starting salary
of $19,165.
